As the ice caps begin to melt faster and faster, Manny, Sid, Diego, and Scrat return to face a new threat far greater than climate change. They discover that the melting opens the way to a previously unknown icy region: a land of mystery, unexpected prehistoric creatures, and the grave threat of an active ice volcano that could cause massive destruction.
Meanwhile, Scrat finds an ancient artifact that can control ice and decides to protect it from the strange creatures hunting him.
