ဝန်ကြီးချုပ်ကို ထရမ့်ပ်က ချီးကျူးမှုလုပ်ခဲ့အပြီး နာရီပိုင်းအကြာတွင် ပြုလုပ်ခဲ့သော ဖုန်းဆက်သွယ်ဆွေးနွေးမှုသည် ၄၅ မိနစ်ကြာမြင့်ခဲ့သည်။

အမေရိကန်အစိုးရသစ်လက်ထက်တွင် ကမ္ဘာလုံးဆိုင်ရာ အခွန်စည်းကြပ်လာနိုင်မှု အလားအလာများ၊ ယူကရိန်းအပေါ် အမေရိက၏ မူဝါဒ ပြောင်းလဲလာခြင်းတို့နှင့် ပတ်သက်၍ စိုးရိမ်မှုများရှိနေချိန်တွင် ဖုန်းခေါ်ဆွေးနွေးခဲ့ခြင်းဖြစ်ပြီး ဆွေးနွေးမှုသည် နွေးထွေးပြီး ပုဂ္ဂိုလ်ရေးဆန်သည်ဟု အစိုးရသတင်းရင်းမြစ်များက ပြောဆိုသည်။

ခေါင်းဆောင်နှစ်ဦးသည် ကုန်သွယ်ရေး၊ စီးပွားရေးတို့နှင့်ပတ်သက်၍လည်း ဆွေးနွေးခဲ့ကြောင်းနှင့် ဗြိတိန်၊ အမေရိကနှစ်နိုင်ငံအကြား ဆက်ဆံရေး ရင်းနှီး နွေးထွေးမှုသည် အရေးပါကြောင်းကို အလေးပေးပြောကြားခဲ့သည်ဟု ဝန်ကြီးချုပ်ရုံးက ဆိုခဲ့သည်။

“မကြာခင်မှာ သူတို့ တွေ့ဆုံသွားကြဖို့ သဘောတူခဲ့ပြီး နောက်ထပ် ဆွေးနွေးမှုတွေလုပ်သွားကြဖို့လည်း မျှော်လင့်ထားကြပါတယ်” ဟု ဝန်ကြီးချုပ်ရုံးက ပြောဆိုခဲ့သည်။

Panamei saltwater prawn farming to be expanded in Taninthayi Region to boost exports

Myanmar exports Panamei saltwater prawns annually, with 5,946.187 tonnes exported by December in the 2024–2025 financial year, according to the Taninthayi Region Fisheries Federation.
“To penetrate international markets, it is crucial to raise global awareness of Panamei saltwater prawns. During the 2024-2025 monsoon season, the salinity levels in breeding farms decreased, which slowed prawn growth and led to some disease outbreaks. As a result, prawn farmers are planning to scale back production during the monsoon season of 2025-2026 and increase farming during the summer months. With expanded farming, export volumes are expected to rise. We also anticipate further growth in international market demand,” said U Thet Soe, Secretary of the Taninthayi Region Fisheries Federation.
Currently, prawns are exported to China in a boiled form and to Japan in a frozen form. To increase export capacity, breeders aim to focus more on farming rather than relying solely on marine capture.
Moreover, as Myanmar annually imports prawn larvae and feed from Thailand, producers are trying to establish domestic hatcheries working with technical support of the government. This effort aims to ensure long-term benefits for both the country and local producers.
In the Taninthayi Region, Panamei white prawns are farmed on 2,217.56 acres using the Good Aquaculture Practices (GAqP) system in Dawei, Kyunsu, Palaw and Kawthoung townships. Expansion is also underway, with an additional 2,662.68 acres in Thayetchaung Township of Dawei District, Myeik, Palaw and Kyunsu townships of Myeik District, Bokpyin Township of Bokpyin District, and Kawthoung Township of Kawthoung District. Indonesia central bank has room to cut rates further, governor says

INDONESIA’S central bank has room to cut interest rates further based on inflation and economic growth forecasts, but would monitor global dynamics and the movement of the rupiah exchange rate to determine future easing moves, its governor said.

Governor Perry Warjiyo told a press conference on Friday (Jan 24) he believed the rupiah would stabilise with a strengthening bias going forward, with the government’s new policy to make exporters retain foreign currency earnings for longer onshore expected to increase domestic US dollar supply.

The office of the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs has said the plan to make resource exporters keep all of their proceeds at home for at least a year could increase Indonesia’s foreign exchange reserves by US$90 billion per year, even though some analysts said the figure was too optimistic.
“From inflation and economic growth perspective, there is room to cut interest rates. From the perspective of exchange rate, we’re aiming for stability,” said Warjiyo.

“The fundamentals, including the earnings retention rules, are giving support for (rupiah) stability. But the main problem is global dynamics, which we will have to monitor from time to time,” he added.

Bank Indonesia unexpectedly cut policy rates earlier this month, resuming an easing cycle it started in September to prop up growth in South-east Asia’s largest economy.
Warjiyo at the time has said BI would monitor for space to further support economic growth, signalling the easing cycle was not over. REUTERS
