KBZ Pay refunds scam-induced loss of 31 users
KBZ Pay has been reimbursing scam-induced loss of 31 users, announced on 3 January 2025.
CBM stated that “third party service provider systems were hacked or targeted by cyberattack through mobile network operators and digital wallet scams were recently reported”.
While KBZ Pay inspected the scammed case, a changing device was found. Thirty-one online scams occurred.
At present, the device change process is temporarily halted and system maintenance is being undertaken. On 7 January 2025, the switching device process will be resumed.
KBZPay is committed to digital wallet security measures in cooperation with mobile network operators and the Central Bank of Myanmar. During the inspection process, KBZPay refunded scam-induced loss of 31 users from 31 December 2024. — NN/KK
