Yangon Region approves 60 investment projects in 2024, creating over 29,000 jobs

The Yangon Region Investment Committee has approved 60 new investment projects from January to December 2024, generating 29,290 job opportunities, according to the committee’s report.
Of these 60 approved projects, 17 were funded by Myanmar investors, with a total investment of over K33 billion, while 43 were foreign-invested projects, amounting to over US$53 million.
In December 2024, the committee approved one fully Myanmar-owned business and two foreign-owned businesses in the hotel, tourism, and industrial sectors during its 12/2024 meeting.
These include hotel service operations and the manufacturing of various apparels under the CMP (Cut-Make-Pack) system. The combined investment capital for these projects amounts to K1,180 million (US$2.22 million), creating 2,440 job opportunities.
The Yangon Region Investment Committee reviews and approves new Myanmar and foreign investment projects monthly, in accordance with relevant laws and procedures, to promote job creation in the region. — ASH/TKO
