Republicans on Capitol Hill reacted Monday to ABC News' exclusive reporting that Pres. Trump's administration is poised to accept a luxury jumbo jet as a gift from Qatar.
When asked about the price tag of the potential gift — an estimated $400 million — Sen. John Kennedy sidestepped the issue.
"I think we ought to follow the law, whatever that is," said the Louisiana Republican. "Well, France gave us the Statue of Liberty."
